HBO Show "Carnivale"
Has anyone else been watching this series? It is truly fascinating!
I'm doing research on apocalyptic writing and mythology and find that this show seems to feature Masonic/Templar imagery and myth.
The characters seem to have specific archetypal roles:
- Ben Hawkins "The Prince" - Savior, life-giver, healer. Wounded Healer.
- Brother Justin "The Usher" - Anti-christ, Evil.
- Management - Christ, Sacrifice. Gives his ("avataric") blood to help save humanity. He passes on his gift to Ben.
- Sofie - Sophia is the Greek goddess of Wisdom, her mythology is found in Gnosticism, Alchemy, Kaballah, and more.
- Samson - Messenger/Guide/Helper. Hermes or Mercury the messenger god.
