I have not had a moment to work on the Mythic Rhythm newsletter or to post my new papers. Work has been crazy and I've been writing papers too - I will post them soon, I promise!

It's also a lot of work planning a fieldwork trip. My plans are almost finalized - I'm going to Brazil with Shaun, my fiance, from January 20-March 7, 2006. We've spent a few weeks just looking at different apartments. I think we may stay at Wolfgang's VillaVerde flats in Barra neighborhood. If anyone can tell me more about the area, that would be fantastic! I spoke to Wolfgang on the phone and he sounds wonderful! But still...trying to decide between his place and a high rise building with a lot of amenities.

We will see!

I just saw the most amazing jazz musicians - Wallace Roney played at the Mercury Lounge! What an honor for all of us who were there. He had a DJ too. It was a fantastic take of Miles Davis' "Bitches Brew"
